The First Build Session: Forward Fuselage Lower Triangle

And we begin!

On October 24, 2026, we took our first step towards turning ambition into something tangible. Our journey towards flight officially began with the construction of the front fuselage lower triangle of the Skyranger Nynja, marking the first hands-on build session for the Cranfield Flight Club.

With over five members working together, the session focused on assembling the initial structural framework, interpreting the build manual, and getting to grips with the practical realities of aircraft construction. It was a day of measuring, aligning, assembling, and learning, laying the groundwork for the structure that will eventually become part of a flying aircraft.

The session also highlighted a few discrepancies between the documented procedures and the assembly process.

These will be reviewed with Skylight to clarify the relevant instructions and ensure that subsequent build activities follow the appropriate procedures and safety requirements.
